The federal investment of more than $5 million allows EnviroTREC to develop the technologies and skills needed to evaluate and certify the next generation of large aircraft engines. Work will include aerospace engine design validation and the testing of green aerospace engine emissions and alternative fuels.

EnviroTREC’s partners, Pratt & Whitney and Rolls-Royce will invest a further $7 million into this project at the Glacier site in Thompson, Manitoba. Project completion is set for May 2013, followed by a short commissioning period.
